A First in Both Türkiye and TRNC
The International Joint Medicine Program carried out by EMU Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty and Marmar University Medicine Faculty is the first joint medicine program in Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to hold the international accreditation. This accreditation not only maintains international career opportunities for students but also reinforces the global prestige of the EMU Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty.
Acting Dean of EMU Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Program Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Güzoğlu highlighted that the faculty will uphold its commitment to training exceptional future physicians by continuously advancing its standards, reinforced by TEPDAD accreditation. In her remarks, Prof. Dr. Güzoğlu said; “Our program, already featured in the World Directory of Medical Schools and with numerous graduates advancing their careers through international examinations, will further enhance its educational standards with this accreditation, securing its place on these esteemed lists. In particular, the opportunity to take international equivalency exams—most notably the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), which, as of 2023, requires graduates from accredited medical schools—offer a significant advantage for our students. We sincerely thank all our academic and administrative staff, students, and alumni who contributed to the accreditation process”. Dean of MU Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Ümit Şehirli also made comments on the topic saying, “This accreditation reaffirms the compliance of our joint program with international standards and enhances the global career prospects of our graduates”.
EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç made remarks on the topic, saying; “The TEPDAD accreditation once again showcases the high quality of medical education at our university. At EMU, our vision extends beyond being the leading and most sought-after university in the region—we are committed to providing our students with a globally recognized and prestigious education. The international accreditations obtained by our faculties play a crucial role in enabling our graduates to pursue successful careers abroad. I wholeheartedly congratulate all our academic and administrative staff, students, and graduates who have contributed to the TEPDAD accreditation process. We are proud to be the first and only Faculty of Medicine in the TRNC to obtain international accreditation and the first joint medical program in Türkiye to achieve this milestone.
