Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Vice Rector for Promotion and Institutional Communication Prof. Dr. Ali Öztüren and Institutional Development and International Academic Affairs Coordinator Assist. Prof. Dr. Cahit Ezel represented EMU at the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) General Assembly hosted by the Istanbul Aydın University on Friday, 25 October 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
Strategic discussions on the current activities and future initiatives of the EURAS was held during the General Assembly. Furthermore, as part of the congress, representatives of EURAS member universities gathered together and evaluated possible future collaborations that might be initiated between the universities. Following the assembly, meetings on forming professional networks, EURAS’ partnerships in European Union Projects and new endeavours of EURAS were held.
Making a statement on the topic, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç noted that these steps taken by EMU in line with its internationalization strategies hold great importance in terms of EMU being represented in international and prestigious university unions. Prof. Dr. Kılıç highlighted that these international representations enable the university to collaborate on academic and research projects with other universities around the world, adding EMU’s involvement in large-scale international projects further reinforces its strong standing in the global higher education field.
Founded in 2008 to encompass universities and other higher education institutions within the Eurasian region, EURAS is an international non-profit organization dedicated to fostering collaboration among universities and advancing global educational standards in the region. With almost 140 members spanning Western and Central Europe, the Balkans, the Caucasus, the Middle East, and Asia, EURAS actively promotes inter-university cooperation.
