Officials from EMU Visit Azerbaijan

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Board of Trustees (VYK) President Dr. Erdal Özcenk, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç,l and EMU VYK member Anıl Kaya paid an official visit to Azerbaijan. The visit took place within the scope of promiting Northern Cyprus and the universities in the Northern Cyprus which was brought to the agenda during the meeting of Azerbaijan President İlham Aliyev and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus President Ersin Tatar in Antalya. The Chair of the Türkiye-Europe Interparliamentary Friendship Group and Istanbul Parliament Member Şamil Ayrım and Türkiye-Northern Cyprus Friendship Group Chair Orhan Erdem was also in the delegation. As part of the visit, the delegation held discussions with various universities in Azerbaijan concerning initiating academic and instituonal collaborations.

The visit aimed to evaluate various collaboration opportunities between universities in EMU and Azerbaijan, especially in  terms of education, research and student exchange program. The said visit also aimed to strenghten the existing relations between the parties. Meeting with  educational institutions in Azerbaijan and their executive officials, the delegation exchanged views on projects, joint academic studies and cultural interaction opportunities.

The visit is anticipated to significantly contribute to the internationalization vission of EMU, and to provide EMU a foundation to create deeper connections with universities in Azerbaijan.
